Internship

The Field Experience Office (FEO) has clear directions to fill out the paperwork necessary for your internship. Currently we have multiple internship options based on your interests and needs. First, we have semester internships. These can be completed within a large radius from Truman State University. We have students in Jefferson City, Kansas City, St. Louis, Quincy, Kirksville, etc. The key is that you are teaching in an approved school and the FEO can tell you that. We have students who participate in the DoDDs semester internship also. There are three full-year options. One is in Kansas City, MO with a focus on urban education and another is with Clayton that focuses on professional development. Finally, we have an option where you can become the teacher of record. You earn a regular teaching salary; have a mentor, and university supervisor. Each program has requirements for becoming a teacher of record so you will want to check with your advisor regarding those.
